And that amount of mileage as set by HMRC [ aka "tax body" ] hasn't changed in at least twenty years despite the increases in prices for fuel, tyres, insurance, etc etc etcAs others have said, 45p per mile in England

Indeed. It's been £0.45 since I took up the whistle. Though the minimum you can claim has changed. I have on fixture that is a round trip of 0.46 miles and I will get £10 milage and a £20 fee for going there. I actually jog there as part of my warm up.And that amount of mileage as set by HMRC [ aka "tax body" ] hasn't changed in at least twenty years despite the increases in prices for fuel, tyres, insurance, etc etc etc
Do clubs supply food for the opposition?Cheers lads.
Interesting to hear what you get.
Some clubs better than others at looking after us post match, some are great and some you'd get nothing, its something that the association are looking to improve so that we at least get a cuppa and a sandwich.
D
We don't have a minimum as far as I'm aware . My nearest is 3 miles imn the same town but I would never claim for that.Indeed. It's been £0.45 since I took up the whistle. Not always Ciaran, a lot of clubs dont have catering facilities and will go to a local bar after the game, however if they dont tell the ref which bar they are going to it means that the ref misses out.Do clubs supply food for the opposition?
That is standard in England so would be surprising if they couldn't spare a pie for the ref!
All clubs in Wales should have a referee liaison officer so this sort of thing should not happen. Below youth clubs have to sort referees for themselves the union does not get involved, except for the big cup games. If fairness this proves hard work so clubs tend to offer better expences that yout hand senior attract and food and a pint is pretty much always ther. When they find a willing ref they go on a charm offensive! Not always Ciaran, a lot of clubs dont have catering facilities and will go to a local bar after the game, however if they dont tell the ref which bar they are going to it means that the ref misses out.
Some clubs are great, some are very poor esp at underage games.
It can be hard on new refs that dont know that the team always go to a certain pub and no one thinks to tell them.
Stockport Grammar - most of the big private schools round here do pre-season training.Where's that at? No schools back in my neck of the woods yet.
Just about everybody! My game ended 7-55 but I'd say a 30 point margin would have been fair. Ten tries and a very good spirit. Who's says youth rugby is all about fighting?
Its just my own anecdotal view but I think that youth rugby has become less trouble than it once was. I have done two U18 club games this season so far and I have to say that the standard of both was really high in both. One YC in each game, both for cynical rather than foul play.Just about everybody!

There are more cards in Wales these days. A lot down to the suppoerters on the sidelings winding players up. However, sadly a lot of colleagues seems to go looking for trouble and start acting like a schoolmaster from the times of Charles Dickens. Mutual respect and nip things in the bud works far better in my view.Just about everybody!
yeah, sorry about that...I've had one mass punch up in over 20 years.
