Where are you this weekend? 2014/15

I've got Farnham Royal vs Thatcham in a friendly. Always enjoy going to Farnham, its a rugby club in the traditional way, small, just rugby and passionate. In my first match there I had to persuade the home crowd to be quiet while the away team were making lineout calls.

Cycling there?
:-)

Copsewood v Coventry Welsh, pre-season selection game.

Should be a nice little warm up to get my head back in gear.

Stocksbridge (L9) vs. Barnsley (L8). Pre-season friendly. Nice warm up after Australia trip and before Yorkshire Shield game next weekend.

Weybridge Vandals trial game tonight, Level 8/7 should be a good test of fitness, having passed the regional fitness test last night.
  • :hap:

Rushden & Higham v Wellingborough.
It was appointed as a friendly but Club fixtures secretary told me it was a local cup game. Glad I've already done a couple of games!
Had a shock this morning though when the Rushded site said KO was 1300; away team's said 1500! Quick call to club confirmed it still 1430. Confusion reigns!

My have my first ever womens match :-)

Not quite sure what to expect as the only games of women's rugby I have ever watched were WRWC finals. I don't suppose my game will be quite that standard.

(and before anyone tries it, no I am not falling for that one about needing to inspect bras for underwiring)

Rugby St Andrews v Old Wheatleyans.

Third friendly, but maybe first game? The last two got cancelled, one after I got to the club

did my first last night (and yes feeling it today!) another one tomorrow night and then one on Saturday, nothing like famine to feast!

and Crossref, as for your first ladies, expect a lot of injuries, depending on the level, some good handling but poor breakdown skills  just my opinion!

Your post match observations on what was different/easier/more difficult etc ... Might be useful, to help any ref who finds themselves in the 'yet to referee women, but just been appointed their 1st match' position

Just a thought CR

On the subject of women's' rugby... I have a strange fixture later next month, Buckingham Swans against Sherborne School 5th XV. I think a phone call to our appoints sec for further details is called for.

Ah, I have their chaps against the town club tomorrow as my first run out.

Old Boys weekend for my collegiate club. I usually get the B side game, plus anything else depending on interest (last year featured a game of 10s). Good for fitness and getting back into the 15s mindset, weather permitting.

I done loads of women..................... Rugby I found not to many injuries the game is generally lateral dependent on skill level

oh and I have the first proper game this Saturday. Suffolk cup match. Which is being assessed and it's a VP day with good reported weather. So there will be lots of help from the sidelines for me:biggrin:
