[Kit] wallet

Hi all,

brand new to reffing - just about to complete the ERRA so am scouring these forums for advice and guidance!

Quick question about red / yellow card wallets, and/or score card holders. I bought a set on Amazon but there are really naff, and also don't fit the larger, square cards the RFU course has supplied. Can anyone recommend a quality, study holder? What do you experienced refs carry?

Thanks in advance :)

I use a small (and sometimes waterproof) notebook - think they are called A7, and cards fit in the back, held in place with the elastic round the book. I find this helps as i record the time of each score and there is space to note details of any cards. noting times of scores is helpful if you ever have to discuss them with a coach (or even forget to note a conversion) and we need the score at the time of the card being issued for our returns to SRU.

Try asking at tomorrow's meeting.

I also use a small notebook. I tried a wallet but found they didn't last very long, and I kept running out of scorecards.

Yellow card in left pocket, red card in right (and remember not to get my left and right mixed up otherwise I give everyone a shock!)

Best to go to a specialist sports shop - if you can find one these days!

Check out morrant.com (a specialist shop with a great on-line shop)

you could always cut the cards down with a sharp knife.

One of our considerations is that we have 3 cards: red, yellow & blue

Wallet schmallet

Left hand pocket
.. YC
.. scorebook (I use a tiny book, not a card, more sturdy)
.. pencil (in book)

right hand pocket
.. spare whistle
.. RC

Its very rare that I have to go to my right hand pocket !

Only twice have I needed a spare whistle (both times fell over, got mud in whistle ).
On the second of those occasions I had a spare whistle

Paging Not Kurt Weaver...

At the territorial AGM earlier this year, I received a custom-printed pad of scorecards that I have fallen in love with. Perforated down the middle, with ample space for jotting notes re: cards and subs. I won't run out for a year or two, but I'm already ruing that day.

Photocopy and print them on suitable card.
