The design elements of the new shirt are taken from Leicester's early years. Some time around 1885, the team played in an orange and brown kit, which led to a journalist from the Leicester Daily Post using the nickname 'Tigers' for the first time. The orange base of the new shirt is therefore surmounted by bold flecks of black and white to represent the markings of a tiger. Shorts and socks are also orange.

So when did green become their colour?

A) mere regurgitation of the marketing men's psychobabble, each new design is similarly justified IIRC
B) constant kit design changes are a fan fleecing illness
C) should aid peripheral vision
D) matches my boots
E) you selling off old stocks?
F) will make cockers more difficult to spot when he's banned from the touchline

Looks OK though
PS, I still wear this to England matches, determined to resist commercial exploitation as much as practicable.

Mixed memories of this one - we hired these beauties in South Africa and kitted them out with dresses and Dutch flags for guerrilla marketing at the South African football World Cup.
Then got our wrists well and truly slapped for breaking the World Cup sponsorship regs and also for promoting a beer. Anyone (except BFG) recall which brand it was and what was odd ?

And we beat Cardiff, so they are now officially 'lucky shirts' :biggrin:

Though Rugby still has got along way to catch up with Football's Money League. The link on that page to Deloitte’s pdf is worth a squint. With gate-money decreasing each year, merchandising is becoming more important to clubs.
