Picking up from a ruck

So we havea blob of bodies and thenlets say a "tail of four player call them Blob 7, 5, 3 and 8, with 7 "bound to the original "ruck" / blob. And Number 5 detaches nd picj the ball up?

No, number 7 picks the ball up.

once 5 has unbound surely 5 and 3 and 8 are out of the ruck and the ruck is over.

If 5 has both feet behind the ball 5 can pick it up and run forward.

what they cant then do is 5 run forward with 3, or 3 and 8 still bound (I think that's the case now - pre binding before contact thingy innit?) so 3 has to unbind from 5 before 5 takes a step forward
