Truthfully, it is quite possible that he is a rascist, but I think it’s a little inappropriate to suggest it because of his actions in this test. After all he used rude, but not rascist language.

"Teenage indiscretions" is a nice way of excusing what the majority of people manage to avoid doing.

"My new muslim friend is the bomb" is just rude? Jesus, even he admitted that what he wrote was racist and sexist.

It might just be coincidence that he went after the only Muslim in the Australia team; the only fella that looks obviously not white, even though there are other indigenous players. He went after him twice, unprovoked.

You could try to argue I'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5; but based on his track record, I think I've reached a very defensible conclusion.

I find the suggestion that he was abusive toward Khawaja because he is rascist quite abhorrent.

Further, I feel the ongoing attempt at justifying it is disgusting.

1.I don’t believe that our actions as a teenager necessarily define us a decade or so later.
2.As he accepted his guilt and regret, very publicy, he would surely be the very last person to do anything with rascist intent in such a public way
3.For a very long time, bowlers have been hurling abuse at batters - especially those they are struggling to get out - and given that Khawaja had faced so many balls, it makes sense that the bowler would need to find a way to un-settle him

I would suggest looking at this minor incident objectively, rather than prejudiciously.

Having said that, I do agree that in general people can learn , can change and deserve a new start .

Abhorrent?

He has form for it. And going after Khawaja during a break - not just after the wicket falling - to be walked away by Jimmy Anderson, is bad. If you're being walked off by Jimmy, you really do need to re-evaluate your life choices.

Let's look at the facts:
1. He has demonstrated racist tendencies. His forced acknowledgement of them is neither here nor there.
2. He went after the only very obviously not white player.. I didn't, for example, see him going after Cummins when he was playing an annoying winning innings.
3. He did it twice. To the nicest guy on the pitch. You want to give Warner a spray? Go for it. Khawaja? Really?

On the basis of those facts, I think I'm more than entitled to reach my conclusion.

Regarding the admission of guilt: Of course he did, he was bangged to rights. He had no other option.

You could easily conclude that when people are under pressure, as Robinson was, their true personality comes through.

i hadn't realised that. i had thought it was just after the wicket.

kind of changes what i think about it. i was going to go with the teenage stupidity argument, i certainly said and did things at that age that i cringe at now (and i think most people would if they're honest with themselves)
