Australia's most reported sporting identity

Dickie E

Referees in Australia
We have a wealth of sporting talent & stories in Australia ... cricket, swimming, athletics, both rugby codes, AFL, etc

Who do you reckon is the most discussed & reported Australian sporting identity? On the news every night.

Hint: he wasn't born here, hasn't lived here for 7 years & is currently unemployed

Hint #2: he was the manager of Nottingham Forest FC for 39 days.

We get blanket coverage here.

And also his time at Spurs. I reckon half the Oz population are Spurs fans because that's the only team we ever heard of during his tenure

I used chatgpt to workout who you are talking about... I had only barely heard of him (I don't follow football!)

in rugby the people who gwet far too much TV time are the members of the 2003 RWC squad. To this day, TV companies regularly pull out Clive Woodward, Jonny Wilkinson etc to opine on today's rugby news. Who cares?

Mike Tindall might fit your criteria, his longstanding status as a minor royal, and current status as - apparently - Rugby360s' sole worldwide spokesman combine to keep him frequently on screen

I quite like Jonny as a pundit, he has a good Rugby brain and is an eloquent speaker.
When he speaks on tactics I always learn something although that may not be a high bar
