Have just lately started having a few wines gums at half time to keep energy levels up.

How many should one take ?

Any better ideas than wine gums ?

If I eat anything at all - it would be a banana. I have been carrying an energy bar in my bag all season, but never eaten it.

I'm tempted to agree with LPP.

I don't normally eat anything; just water will do. But at a recent game, the coaches were dishing Wine Gums out like confetti. He gave me 3. For the rest of the 2nd half I was thirsty as hell and my moth felt dry and sticky, and I regretted eating them.

I sometimes wonder if they are just psychological.

sounds good, but in my games we don't get to go back to the dressing room, I'm just standing at the side of the pitch.
You don't get a coach/assessor at your games? If not, just give it to the ground manager to hold.
